Privacy Policy

Repeatly is a Chrome extension built by an indie developer. Your privacy matters. This page explains exactly what data Repeatly collects, what it does not collect, and how it's used.

What Repeatly collects

Repeatly sends anonymous product events to Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies and does not track personal identifiers. The events we collect are:

• Session start — a count of how often Repeatly is used, without any identifying information about you or the video you're watching.
• Feature usage counts — anonymous counts of interactions like opening the panel, starting a loop, adding a segment, changing playback speed, or clicking the feedback button.
• Loop metadata — the type of loop you started (single segment, multi-segment chain, or full-video repeat), the number of segments used, and the playback speed. This does not include any actual timestamps, video URLs, or content.
• Anonymous session identifier — a randomly generated string stored locally in your browser so we can count unique installs vs. total usage. This ID is not linked to any personal information.

What Repeatly does NOT collect

• Your name, email address, or account information
• URLs of YouTube videos you watch
• Titles, content, or metadata of any video
• Specific timestamps you loop, start, or end
• IP addresses or precise location
• Browsing history or other websites you visit
• Passwords, financial details, or authentication tokens
• Any personally identifiable information

What is stored locally in your browser

Repeatly saves the following data using Chrome's local storage API. This data never leaves your browser and is only used to make the extension work smoothly for you:

• Loop settings per video (start/end times, segment configuration, repeat count)
• Whether your loop was active when you last closed the panel
• Anonymous session identifier

You can clear this data at any time by removing Repeatly from your browser or clearing Chrome's extension storage.

Why we collect anonymous usage data

Understanding how people use Repeatly helps me improve it. For example, knowing which features are used the most tells me what to invest more time in. Knowing which features are ignored tells me what to remove or redesign.

None of this data can be traced back to you.

Third-party services

Repeatly uses Aptabase for anonymous analytics. Aptabase is a privacy-first analytics service that:

• Does not use cookies
• Does not collect personal information
• Is GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA compliant
• Stores data in secure EU data centers

Data sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with anyone, for any purpose, including advertising, marketing, or research. There are no exceptions.

Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws, you have the right to know what data is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of analytics. Because Repeatly collects no personally identifiable information, we cannot link any events back to you. To fully opt out, you can uninstall the extension at any time.

Children's privacy

Repeatly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Repeatly, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated. Substantial changes will be highlighted in the extension release notes on the Chrome Web Store.
